Pod X3 Live

Pod X3 LiveI use a Pod X3 Live for recording purposes. It is a great piece of hardware for guitar and bass processing. It can also process vocals, but I don’t use it for that of course.

Of course it doesn’t sound quite as good as a real amp, but it still sounds great and it is much more convenient to use than a conventional mic and amp setup. And of course it comes with a ton of other effects.

A great feature is that you can save patches and send them to your computer. This way, you can share your patches and download other ones on the internet. Check out the tones I use here. You can also use Line 6 software that lets you model your sound after recording. So that means you can record a plain signal, and then apply whatever effects you want. If you later decide that you want to eq your tone differently, or completely change your amp and cab models, you can without re-recording.

I decided to go with this particular model because it has a volume/wah pedal.
